The Cumberland County Healthy Maine Partnerships (HMPs) consist of four community coalitions which are funded with tobacco settlement dollars and which work to improve the health of residents in every town in Cumberland County .  We share a common mission of helping to make our communities healthier places to live, work and play by encouraging environmental and policy changes in four public health areas: physical activity, nutrition, tobacco use and substance abuse.  Two lead agencies host the Cumberland County HMPs:  Healthy Rivers and Healthy Lakes are programs of the People's Regional Opportunity Program (PROP); and Healthy Casco Bay and Healthy Portland are programs of the City of Portland 's Public Health Division, Health and Human Services Department.

Presumpscot Regional Land Trust (PRLT), formerly Gorham-Sebago Lake Regional Land Trust, is a conservation organization founded in 1986. The mission of the PRLT is to conserve and protect natural lands and historic landscapes for posterity in the Presumpscot River watershed and western shore area of Sebago Lake. Using easements or ownership the PRLT preserves wildlife habitat, agricultural lands, and public access for outdoor recreational opportunities along the Presumpscot River and its associated watershed. At the forefront of land protection efforts along much of the northern portions of the Presumpscot River, the PRLT is the only land trust in Maine whose land protection efforts focus on the Presumpscot River watershed and western shore area of Sebago Lake.
