The Cumberland County Healthy Maine Partnerships (HMPs)
consist of four community coalitions which are funded
with tobacco settlement dollars and which work to
improve the health of residents in every town in
Cumberland County . We share a common
mission of helping to make our communities healthier
places to live, work and play by encouraging environmental
and policy changes in four public health areas: physical
activity, nutrition, tobacco use and substance abuse. Two
lead agencies host the Cumberland County HMPs: Healthy
Rivers and Healthy Lakes are programs of the People's
Regional Opportunity Program (PROP); and Healthy
Casco Bay and Healthy Portland are programs of the
City of Portland 's Public Health Division, Health
and Human Services Department.
